Maintenance

If your property is managed by Real Rents Property Management Ltd, you should report ALL maintenance issues in a timely manner by clicking the Report A Maintenance Problem button below.   We have partnered with FixFlo who provide a reporting system which ensures that we receive all the information required to have your maintenance issue rectified as quickly and safely as possible.

You should be aware that some maintenance issues are the responsibility of the tenant, guidance is provide below in the General Advice section.  If you are not sure who is responsible for the repair, please report the issue via FixFlo and a member of the team will confirm who is responsible. Once the issue has been reported, a member of the team will review your issue and will be in touch.  If a contractor is required to attend, we will arrange this with one of our approved contractors.

Should you require emergency assistance, please contact the office on 01908 465130 and select option 2.   (Please note that this should only be used in genuine emergencies only).

If your emergency relates to a gas issue, you should call the National Grid immediately on 0800 111 999.  You should familiarise yourself with the advice that they provide on their website.  A link to their website is National Grid – Emergency & Safety Advice.

General Advice

As a tenant of the property, you will be expected to maintain the property to the standard that the property was presented to you in.  Changing light bulbs and keeping on top of general maintenance issues around the property, will generally be your responsibility.  If you are unsure about what you are responsible for, please report the issue via the reporting system and a member of the team will clarify.

If you are required to change or replace something, the internet is a good place to look.  We recommend purchasing any materials from Screwfix or Toolstation as they represent good value.

You should ensure that you are competent in the task that you are undertaking and if you are in any doubt, you should contact us before carrying out any maintenance.

 

Gas

If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, please call the free Gas Emergency Services emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999.  You should open all doors and windows to ventilate the property and isolate the gas at the mains.  Full information can be found on the National Grid website.

Electricity

If you encounter no power at you property you should check the main fuse board and ensure that all the switches appear to be in the ON position.  Please check that you are in credit if you have a key meter.  You should contact Western Power to ascertain if there is a power failure in the area.  It is also a good idea to speak to neighbours to determine if they are experiencing the same issues.  If there are no reported issues, please contact us via email or on 01908 465130 so we can arrange a suitably qualified engineer to attend.

Water

If you have any issue with your water supply, you should check that there is not a supply issue in the area.  Anglian Water are the suppliers in Milton Keynes.  If your property is not in Milton Keynes, your supplier will be the company that bills you.
